Google My Business is a free and easy way to get your business noticed. Get it right and your business could begin appearing in Google searches, with the obvious benefit.
As a food business, it could help if you featured a menu on your Google My Business page. That’s what today’s post is all about.
The team here at Buzz-it will walk you through how to add a menu to your Google My Business page.
Add a menu to your Google My Business page
We’ll assume you already have a Google My Business page already. If not, perform a search in Google for your business. Select your business from the results and look for the ‘Own this business?’ link.
Verify that you own the business to claim the Google My Business page.
Once you have the page set up, you can add a menu relatively easily. You’ll need an editable version of your menu to copy and paste into Google.
Visit the Google My Business homepage and log in.
Select Info from the left menu and paste the URL of the menu page on your website where you see ‘Menu Link’
Save the change
Select Menu from the left menu or underneath the Menu Link box
Select Add Menu Section and set up sections for your menu
Add individual dishes as required within that menu section
Select Add when you’re done
Google divides the menu into sections. You can use these to divide entrees, starters, mains, desserts and any organisation you like. As long as it makes sense to the user, you can do whatever you want here.
Once you have added a section, you can add individual dishes as you need. You can include an image, dish name, description and price to the menu.
We would recommend making your menu as complete as possible and including high quality images along with some, or all, or your dishes.
Once you have added all relevant sections, dishes, names, descriptions and any images, you’re good to go.
But you’re not done yet. Read over your menu to make sure you have made any obvious typos or errors. Better yet, have someone else read over the menu to make sure there are no errors.
The last thing you need is to make an obvious typo that goes viral for all the wrong reasons!
